形声字是汉字构形体系中的最优结构，而汉字构形系统几乎就是形声系统，整个汉字发展演变的历史就是形声系统确立和发展演变的历史。小篆是汉字发展史上最早形成完善系统的汉字体系，又是最后一个全面保持了构形意图的汉字体系。因此，小篆形声系统的研究既有着重要的文字学理论价值，也具备着极佳的现实可操作性。本书以《说文》小篆字系为样本，运用传统的形义统一的原则和现代系统论的方法，对小篆形声字作了全面细致的分析和系统深入的测查。作者首先分析了形声字的产生条件和来源类别，确定了形声字的结构类型和判定标准。继而比勘《说文》不同版本和各家说解、结合古文字材料，对《说文》小篆形声字个体字符进行了细致的鉴别，最终从《说文》9421个正篆中提取出8233个形声字。并以此为基础，运用结构层次分析法、义素分析法和结构功能分析法，对小篆形声字的个体字符进行了穷尽性的结构和功能分析，对义符、声符的功能类型和相互关系作了深刻的理论阐释。并归纳制作出小篆形声字的义符总表和声符总表，展示了378个义符和1670个声符在系统中的功能以及彼此之间的复杂关系。 Read more
